At 197 Camp Winchell Coulee, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to connect with nature, learn valuable life skills, and create lasting memories. Our mission is simple: to provide an affordable and enriching group camping experience for youth groups in Calgary and the surrounding areas.

Our Location
Located just south of the hamlet of Water Valley, and west of Highway 22, Camp Winchell Coulee is approximately a one hour drive from Calgary. The site is bordered by farm property to the south and east, and a gentle slope to Winchell Coulee and beaver ponds to the north.
Camp Features
Our camp, nestled on 29.7 acres of treed land provides a serene escape for youth groups in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Here, you’ll find a spacious 2560 sq ft bunk house equipped with full cooking facilities, comfortably accommodating up to 54 people. Separate sleeping quarters ensure privacy for both females and our dedicated cooks/volunteers.
As you explore the camp, you’ll discover a 48’ washroom facility with flush toilets and refreshing showers. Our well-tested well water ensures hydration during your stay. For those who appreciate rustic charm, we offer 7 gravel tenting pads and traditional outhouses. And don’t miss our commercial playground system, where kids can swing, slide, and play to their heart’s content.
Just 2 km west of the camp lies Winchell Lake—a tranquil oasis perfect for fishing and canoeing. Whether you’re a scout troop, school group, or community organization, we invite you to join us at Camp Winchell Coulee for an unforgettable outdoor adventure!
